Dr. Flowers was born and raised in Lynbrook, NY, which is on Long Island. He attended Cornell University
for his under-graduate and veterinary education and graduated in 1996. Dr. Flowers and his wife, Ellen, founded At Home
Veterinary Care in 1999. Dr. Flowers enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. He is a member of the Maine Veterinary
Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medicine Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr.
Flowers and his wife have three children. His extended family includes 3 dogs (Rigatoni, Millie and Penne), 3 cats, 2
rats and an African Gray parrot. In whatever spare time he can manage, Dr. Flowers enjoys gardening, fishing, hunting and
many other outdoor activities.

Dr. Calder, a native of Toms River, NJ, moved to Maine in 2006. She is a 1998 graduate of Mississippi
State University (go Bulldogs!!). A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Society
of Animal Behavior, she has a special interest in behavior. Dr. Calder is also author of the book, Career
Diary of a Veterinarian: Gardner's Guide Series. Dr. Calder and her husband, Matt, live in Waldoboro with
their three children. Their extended family includes 4 dogs (Skye, Bama, Trail and Vader) and 4 cats (Smikey, Cee, Boo,
and Rain). In her spare time, Dr. Calder likes to travel, read and sometimes write.

Ellen is our practice manager and manages to skillfully combine this with her work as a licensed veterinary
technician. As a veterinary technician, Ellen assists with radiographs, catheter placement, surgical procedures, performs
dentals and fills in whenever necessary. She has been a technician for 18 years and has worked at two referral hospitals
as a surgical technician. She also worked in the intensive care unit at Cornell University. Ellen and Dr. Flowers are
parents to three wonderful children and their extended family includes 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rats and an African Gray
parrot. During Ellen's rare free time, she loves reading, stained glass, and working in the garden.

Melissa joined our team in 2005 and has not missed a beat. A graduate of the University of Maine
at Orono with a Bachelors in Zoology, she furthered her education by obtaining an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology
at NHCTC in New Hampshire. A Licensed Technician since 2003, Melissa has been working with animals since 2000.
She and her husband live in Bowdoinham with 2 dogs (Dexter, a German Shepherd, and Jack, a Springer Spaniel mix) and
3 cats. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys reading, hiking with her dogs, camping and fishing.

Missy has been on our reception staff for four years. She studied at the University of Maine in
Augusta to become a Veterinary Technician. Missy has always had a love for animals. As a child, she remembers
saving all sorts of birds and rabbits from her cat. Missy enjoys farm life in Somerville with her husband, Scott, and
her son, Hunter. The farm family includes 10 Herford cows, 2 donkeys, 2 goats, 7 pigs, a handful of chickens, 4 dogs
and a cat. Missy loves spending time at the family camp in Milo and any spare time she has is spent enjoying her family.

Carlos is not only one of the reception team, he also works around the facility as our general handyman.
Carlos grew up with pets and his family has always chosen to adopt a pet from the local shelter. Carlos
loves to work with people and their pets. Through chance, Carlos ended up with what he calls his ideal job at At Home
Veterinary Care. He enjoys being able to say every day that he made a difference in the lives of people and their pets.
Carlos is extremely active in his church and with the youth ministry. Carlos and his wife, Anita, have four
children and 2 dogs, a lab mix (Sadie) and a lab (Decoy).

Nikki has a passion for the evnironment and conservation. This led her to pursue a Bachelor
of Science degree in Wildlife Care and Education from Unity College. Nikki delights in learning more every day and in
sharing that knowledge with the clients at At Home Veterinary Care. She has a ragdoll cat named Bella, whom she loves
very much. Nikki enjoys everything outdoors, which includes hunting and fishing.

Licensed Veterinary Technician
From the time she was little, Pat remembers stray animals following her home. As a child, Pat rehabilitated
all kinds of wildlife: snakes, turtles, frogs and birds, just to name a few. After a career in journalism, Pat decided
to follow her love of animals and she went back to school to become a licensed veterinary technician. Pat has been a
licensed technician since 1995 and pays special attention to each pet that is in her care. Prior to moving to Maine
and joining our staff, she had worked at the same hospital for 13 years. Pat loves the mentality of herding dogs
and appreciates the sense of humor her "Beardies" have. Pat has 4 bearded collies and too many cats
and chickens to count. She also enjoys gardening and the challenges of starting an apple orchard.

Licensed Veterinary Technician
Anna grew up with pets and they have always been a part of her life. Whe she was just a child in
4-H Club, she took a tour of a veterinary clinic. This introduced her to the profession of veterinary technician and Anna
knew right away that this was what she wanted to become. Even in high school, Anna worked as a veterinary assistant.
Anna started here in 2005, leaving for a brief time to work with large animals and to have her baby, Paige. Anna resides
in Pittston with her husband, Jeff, daughter, Paige, and their dog, Duke. Anna enjoys her family time when she's not
with us.

Danielle has been on staff with us since 2003. Danielle has loved animals all her life. For
as long as she can remember, she has been around animals, rescuing them even as a little girl growing up. Right out
of high school, Danielle started working as a veterinary assistant. Danielle is from the Gardiner area and currently
resides locally with her boyfriend, Cliff, her 2 dogs (Scout and Roe) and 3 cats (Marco, Chani and Kody). She loves
to spend her spare time welding, 4-wheeling and camping.

Formerly a chef, Shawn switch professions in 2005 to become a professional groomer. After training
at A+ Grooming Academy in Gray, Shawn worked for 2 years at a busy grooming salon in Topsham before joining our team.
Shawn and his wife, Tamara, live in Gardiner with their two cats, Moochie and Tink, their Cocker Spaniel, Gus, and lots of
composting worms. When not grooming, Shawn enjoys gardening, snowboarding, stained glass and strolling the beaches looking
for sea glass.
