What you'll see when you come for a visit....

Welcome to the waiting area! Sunny and open, inviting you and your pet to relax for a short spell. Coffee
and tea are available for your pleasure and there are toys for children to play with. Visit with the Pals Shelter kitties
up for adoption!

Our receptionists greet you warmly as soon as you and your pet come through the door. Through our
computers, they alert the veterinarians and other team members of your arrival. We might ask for an updated picture
of your pet to complete the digital medical records we have for each patient.

Before you and your dog enter an exam room, one of our team members will help get an accurate weight for
your dog's medical record. You may come in as often as you like to weigh your dog. We especially encourage this
when your dog is on a weight-loss regime.

Once in the exam room, a team member will begin by taking notes on your questions, concerns, and any comments
about your pet's health. When the veterinarian comes into the room for the exam, that team member will be entering every
detail of the exam and any discussions about medical care that you and your veterinarian have into the computerized record.

Your time with the veterinarian
The physical examination is the most important and valuable service a veterinarian can provide to patients
on a regular basis. We look for and identify weight issues, skin and coat problems, nutritional needs, dental and heart
concerns.

While you and your veterinarian are in the exam room, another team member is already busy, taking a look
at a fecal sample (Yes, it is very important that you bring one!) under the microscope. We look for any signs of intestinal
parasites which could adversely affect your pet's health.

Before you leave your appointment, you will be given not only an itemized receipt
but also a detailed medical summary of your pet's visit. Included is everything you discussed with the veterinarian,
all of the exam findings, test results as well as any diagnoses, recommendations and medication instructions.
